MY STORY

Writing has always been a passion for me. I started writing rambling stories in notebooks from the age of ten before moving on to some weird fan fiction that mystified my English teachers in High School. They said that it was well written... but also that they didn't really understand it!

I continued to utilise and hone my writing skills when, after school, I fell into an engineering career, as everyone told me there was no money to be made in writing. During this time, I wrote manuals, work instructions and marketing literature and became my employers' preferred choice for these projects. Meanwhile, in my spare time, I was branching out into science fiction short stories and eventually a novel.

In 2016 I undertook a publishing project for the first time, editing an anthology of steampunk stories and managing the entire publishing process through my own small publishing press. As well as editing other writers' stories, I contributed a story to it and wrote an introduction. The book is still available and you can purchase Airships & Automata on Amazon. This project was a real awakening for me and was the key trigger in sending me on my way to a career in writing. So, after becoming dissatisfied with my engineering career, I decided to make the leap to becoming a freelance writer in late 2021.
